Five directors. €4,000 each. No brief.

We spend most of the year making other people's films to other people's specifications. This is the opposite of that. Five directors based in southern Africa get €4,000 and four months to make one piece of work of their own choosing. Any length, any format, any subject.

There is no brief because a brief would make it ours. We don't approve the idea, we don't sit in the edit, and we don't take a share of anything that comes out of it. You own the film, the footage and every right attached to it, in perpetuity.

What we do is pay on time — half on signature, half on delivery — introduce you to crew and kit where we can, and put the finished work in front of the labels and brands we already talk to. If you want notes, ask and you'll get them. If you don't, you won't hear from us until you're done.

The money is the whole point. €4,000 is not a production budget for a commercial, but it is four months of not taking corporate work, or a crew paid properly for three days, or the thing you've been carrying around since 2023 finally getting shot.

This is the second time we've run it. Last year we funded three directors; two of those films have since been picked up commercially, and one of the directors now works with us regularly. We are not telling you that to sell the scheme. We're telling you because the first round was smaller and we said we'd say what happened.
