VAPOUR IS THE FIRST NAME ON THE ROSTER

Vapour is a producer and vocalist from Johannesburg. We first heard the record that became Smoke Signal in March, unfinished, sent to us by somebody who works at a studio in Newtown and thought we'd like it.

Three major labels had already passed on the first single. It went past a million streams anyway, with no marketing spend and no artist photo — the first two singles were released with no images and no interviews at all.

We are handling day-to-day management, release planning, sync and publishing administration, and EU touring including the visa and carnet work that usually eats a first tour alive. That's the whole arrangement. The recordings, masters and publishing stay with Vapour. We take commission, not ownership.

This is the first name on the roster and it will stay a short list. We can do the job properly for a handful of artists, and badly for twenty.
